We are currently working on a revisionary programme where we revisit and revise the various themes covered in the Green Schools Programme to date with greenhomes.ie. We were working towards our 5th Green Flag where the Theme is “Biodiversity” but were one of the schools selected to take part in the” Green Homes Challenge”.
From September to December 2013 we revised “Recycling” and well done to the 35 families who logged on and took part in the online challenge.
We also have a continuing appraisal of recycling in our class rooms on a weekly basis.
From January to Easter we are revising the “Energy” module. Each class has committed to doing a wall display using energy saving ideas, renewable and non-renewable resources, the history of electricity to mention just a few. Please call in and check out these displays or view photos of them on this website.
We had a representative from An Taisce to talk to the children about energy and energy saving. Six volunteers from every class have committed to doing the weekly challenge for 5 weeks. Please check out the greenhomes.ie website and see the facts on energy and how we can make saving in our homes and school and discover low cost tips.
