Olympic Handball:
On the 18th of May the U-12 Boys Handball Team went to Dublin to play in the Handball League Finals. We were competing against four other schools. It was not an easy day but in the end we won the league and we got a nice trophy.

As the Olympic Handball Season fast approaches, we are delighted to have over 70 children from 5th and 6th classes registered with the IOHA. Training commenced at the end of September on Tuesday's from 2.30pm-3.30pm. Two teams will be selected to represent St Mary's SNS in the South Dublin Leagues and these will compete with other schools. There will be a boys team and a girls team. Ms Smith and Ms Nugent are coaching the teams.
Greystones Track & Field
On 17th of May 176 children from our school went to Greystones for a track & field competition. The events included relay races, sprints, long jump, high jump, long distance and tug of war. Alice Naughton, Liam Broderick, Roisin Brien, Jordan Walsh and Rebecca Brereton are but a few of the people who won medals on the day. St. Mary's SNS won the tug of war at several class levels this year. We arrived home at 3.30pm exhausted after a great day out.

Hurling:
The first ever St. Mary’s hurling team took to the field in October 2006 when they took part in a Hurling Blitz in Roundwood. The team played brilliantly and certainly did the school proud. Both Mr Ryan and Mr Sheridan were delighted with the performances on the day. The players were: Conor Devlin, Daniel Kell, Darragh Duffy, Kyle Geraghty, Diaran McEnroy, Declan McEnroy, Luke Cullen, Andrew Byrne and William Eustace. Well done lads. At the moment Mr Sheridan is checking out how many budding "DJ Carey's" there might be in the school. More news to follow. |
